Farkad A. Balaya, MD, is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of Damascus University in Syria. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the New York Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell. He fulfilled his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lutheran Medical Center, where he received the Best Research Award in 2002, and the University at Buffalo, where he received the Segal Award in 2004. He currently volunteer teaches at the University of Buffalo for their OB/GYN Residency Program and received the Chief Resident Teaching Award in 2012.
Dr. Balaya is fluent in Arabic and enjoys painting in his spare time. He resides in Hamburg with his wife and their six children.
