Thomas O’Connor, MD

Anesthesiology

Dr. Tom O’Connor, board certified anesthesiologist, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Notre Dame University and his medical degree from State University of New York in Buffalo. His post-graduate training  in internal medicine was completed at Buffalo General Hospital and his anesthesia training took place at Massachusetts General Hospital.

He has served as principal investigator for several studies dealing with the prevention of post-operative nausea and vomiting and has presented his technique for management of the difficult airway at local and national meetings. In addition to the New York State and Erie County Medical Societies, Dr. O’Connor is a member of the Catholic Medical Association and the Society for Airway Management.

Dr. O’Connor presently provides anesthesia for all of Dr. Michael Landi’s elective neurosurgical procedures at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. He routinely sees each patient the day of surgery to review their past experience with anesthesia and to explain the anesthesia plan for the surgical procedure. If a patient has a history of a significant difficulty with previous anesthetics (eg. difficulty with intubation), arrangements can be made for Dr. O’Connor to speak to the patient prior to the day of surgery. Each patient is also evaluated during a post-operative visit.
