Invision Health Welcomes Dr. Vassilios Dimopoulos in June 2022!

Born in Athens, Greece, Dr. Vassilios Dimopoulos completed medical school at the University of Patras. He completed a mandatory year of rural service and twenty months of military service as a flight surgeon in the Hellenic AirForce. Upon completion of his general surgery internship, he began his neurosurgical residency at the University of Patras one of the most prominent neurosurgical residency programs in Greece at that time. After several months, he moved to the US in search of further training and entered a pre-residency clinical fellowship program in Macon, Georgia. He completed his US residency training in 2013 from the University of Rochester. During his training, Dr. Dimopoulos developed a special interest for complex and minimally invasive spine surgery. With encouragement from his mentors Dr. Huang, and his chairman, Dr. Webster Pilcher, he went on to purse spine fellowship training at the University of Miami under the direction of Dr. Barth Green

Throughout his neurosurgical training, Dr. Dimopoulos was able to dedicate a significant amount of effort towards research and was awarded more than 30 publications and numerous presentations at national meetings.

Dr. Dimopoulos is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He specializes in the surgical management of disorders of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves and will be treating patients at our Williamsville office.
