Many of the medical staff members of Invision health and the Brain and Spine Center are board certified with the New York State Worker’s Compensation Board. We will assist you through the process.
If you are injured at work, you must be certain the details of your injury are all thoroughly documented by you and your employer within thirty days of the injury. It is important have a medical evaluation which may involve going to the hospital and/or scheduling an office visit with physician depending on the severity of your condition. Your doctor will have to perform a comprehensive medical exam which may include MRI’s, X-rays and other tests. The results of your assessments will all be thoroughly documented. Once your doctor determines a diagnosis, it will be decided whether you are to be restricted from working, released to work in some capacity, or whether you are capable of returning to your usual duties. This statement, along with supporting evidence, is required for your worker’s compensation claim.
Residing in New York State, it is important that you select a physician that is certified by the State Worker’s Compensation Board. Furthermore, due to the documentation involved, be certain you select a doctor who has experience in worker’s compensation claims, since the physician is required to make evaluations regarding your level of disability under the NYS workers’ comp guidelines.
